Cataldo's Old Mission State Park will host the 29th annual Historic Skills Fair on Saturday and Sunday, July 9-10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In the shadow of Idaho's oldest standing building, the Cataldo Mission, this unique event brings visitors back to a forgotten era of the Inland Northwest, a press release said.

Participants, dressed in period clothing, will demonstrate historic skills like weaving, silversmithing, quilting, spinning, flint-knapping, basket-making, lace-making, leatherwork and beadwork.

Guests can visit with the Frontier Regulars Army Corps re-enactors as they demonstrate the use of Civil War-era black powder equipment, including a large cannon that will be fired on the hour all day Sunday, the release said.

Many items will be for sale.

Chuckaroo Chuck and will play music all weekend, and good food will be served at the Pinehurst Lions Club Concession Wagon.

All entry fees to the park apply.

Old Mission State Park is located 25 miles east of Coeur d'Alene, I-90 exit 39.
