Play-in action starts in AA basketball

The play-in game schedule for Class AA girls basketball started Tuesday night with No. 2 seed Missoula Sentinel (18-3) defeating No. 7 Missoula Hellgate 59-29.
Sentinel, led by Amanda Davis' 18 points, now advances to the AA state tournament March 10-12 in Butte.
All play-in winners, boys and girls, advance to state-tournament play in Butte.
Flathead will host Helena Capital on Friday, 7 p.m. in boys play-in action. Tickets, $6 for adults and $4 for students, will go on sale one hour before tipoff. Reserved seats and season tickets are not honored for Montana High School Association playoff games.
Glacier's boys, by virtue of winning the Western AA regular-season title, have an automatic bye to the state tournament.
In girls play-in action, Flathead visits Missoula Big Sky on Thursday, 6 p.m., while Glacier is at Helena High on Friday, 7 p.m.
