Polson loses to Laurel in consolation contest

BOZEMAN - Polson never recovered from a slow start in falling to Laurel 62-54 Saturday morning in consolation play at the Class A state boys basketball tournament.
Polson (15-8) fell behind 16-6 after eight minutes of play and trailed 26-19 at the break.
Laurel was led by the 1-2 combination of David Swecker, 20 points, and Jake McKinney, 19.
Louis Mohr had another big game for Polson, hitting a game-high 27 points. Tyler Krell was next with 20.
The win advanced Laurel to the consolation final Saturday evening versus Butte Central, who beat Corvallis 65-60 in an earlier consolation contest.
Polson went 1-2 in state tournament play.
