Chiefs brush back Silvertips

SPOKANE - Spokane's Anthony Bardaro scored twice to give the Chiefs a 4-2 win over Everett in front of 4,341 in a Western Hockey League game Tuesday at the Spokane Arena.

With the win, Spokane trails Portland by one point for the U.S. Division lead and top seed in the Western Conference with six games to play.

Spokane opened the game with a 3-0 lead after the first period as Brenden Kichton scored midway through the first. Steve Kuhn scored with 2:04 remaining and Bardaro added his first goal of the night with 1:04 left in the period.

Everett scored the next two goals to pull within 3-2 late in the third.

Kenton Miller and Matt Marantz had two assists each for Spokane (43-17-4-2, 92 points), which hosts Tri-City on Friday at 7 p.m.

James Reid had 22 saves for Spokane.
