Ker, Bigfork get opening-round win

GREAT FALLS - Christian Ker turned in a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds to help Bigfork knock off Huntley Project 60-52 on Thursday in first-round action at the Class B state boys basketball tournament.
Ian Lorang added 15 points and Colter Trent 10 for the Vikings (19-7), who advance to tonight's semifinal contest at 8.
"Ian Lorang stepped up huge for us," Bigfork coach Paul La Mott said.
"Christian Ker had a huge dunk later in the game. That energy carried us on to the finish."
Bigfork will face Wolf Point, a 60-53 winner over Whitehall on Thursday.
Huntley and Whitehall drop into loser-out play this morning.
Bigfork enjoyed a 33-15 advantage at the half and close the game with a 21-point fourth quarter.
Huntley Project (19-8) had two double-figure scorers - Tyrell Freiling with 19 and T.J. Harris tallied 17.
