Alan Dale | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 13 years, 8 months AGO
Head coach: JoElle Malone (third year)
2010 overall record: 6-15
2011 league record: 5-14
2011 postseason: None
Number of returnees: Four
ROSTER: SENIORS - Skylar Lund, Kim Vela, and Shelley Wenz; JUNIORS - Emma Ratigan and Paige McQueen; SOPHOMORES - Kayla Brissey, Lauren Laird, Clarissa Vela, Kaiya Hunsaker, and Sami Krueger.
OUTLOOK: Battling in the tough Central Washington Athletic Conference (CWAC) proved just a bit daunting last season for Ephrata which hung tough but fell to 5-14 in league play.
This year, four starters are back including Skylar Lund, Kim Vela, Shelley Wenz, and Kayla Brissey for JoElle Malone who enters her third year at the helm.
"We have a great work ethic and desire to do our best," Malone said. "Our coaching staff has enthusiasm and an optimistic outlook we try to pass on to our players."
Still, the Lady Tigers will have to incorporate a large number of young players who are yet to experience varsity play.
Malone tabs Lund as their leader due to her ability on both offense and defense.
"We plan on demonstrating a never say die attitude," Malone said. "We also want to receive an academic athlete award and place post season."
