Head coach: Bill Gonzales (Eighth year)

2010 overall record: 9-11

2011 league record: 9-9

2011 postseason: Sixth at districts

Number of returnees: Five

ROSTER: (Not made available)

OUTLOOK: Coach Gonzales is still working on who his varsity team would be as the 2011 season nears but he knows he has five returnees he can count on.

Seniors Brenda Fregoso, Shelan Lybbert and Adriana Zamarron return along with junior Araceli Serrano and sophomore Cheyenne Hyer, from last year's 9-11 team that made a late run to a district playoff berth before seeing their season end.

Zamarron will be counted on to provide big innings from the mound while she teams with third-year catcher, Fregoso.

"We have good senior leadership but we are going to have to replace a lot of graduated players," Gonzales said. " I believe that the key to our success will depend on our senior leadership.  Most of the returning players have had an impact in our program they also will be a key as to how we fair this year."

If the senior class can step up, the Lady Jacks may have a chance to carry their season-ending momentum into the new campaign.

"I hope the fans will see an improved team over last year with more offense and improved defense," Gonzales said. "We need to work and build on last year's success."
