Harry R. “Bear” Bean, 70, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho on Thursday, March 10, 2011.

Services are pending.

Harry “Bear” was born in Longview, Washington on May 13, 1940 the son of Lester and Nellie Bean.  He attended schools in the state of Washington.  He served with the US Army during Viet Nam, being stationed in Fort Ord, California, Korea, and Germany.

He worked, as a logger, on the pacific coast prior to moving to Naples,  and logged until his retirement in 1993.

Bear enjoyed the outdoors and participated in black powder shooting events.  He was an avid reader, liked to work with wood, beads and painting.

He is survived by his children Stephanie Helsley in Sagle; Mike Schnittlinger in Bonners Ferry; and Mickey R. Bean in Oregon and Five grandchildren, a great grandchild, and his sister in law Karen Pearson, of Bonners Ferry.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
