COEUR d'ALENE - Firefighters doused a small blaze at a Coeur d'Alene apartment complex on Saturday afternoon.

Crews responded to 654 E. Haycraft, unit 1 about 1:30, according to Coeur d'Alene Fire Department Battalion Chief Lee Holbrook.

The first crews on-scene entered the apartment and knocked down the fire in about 30 seconds, Holbrook said.

No one was injured in the fire.

A man had apparently been asleep in the apartment when the fire started, but a neighbor noticed the smoke and alerted him of the danger, Holbrook said.

Coeur d'Alene and Northern Lakes fire personnel spent approximately 1.5 hours cleaning up the scene.

The apartment sustained major smoke, fire and water damage, but no structural damage, Holbrook said.
