Cougs dump Cowboys, move on in NIT

PULLMAN - Klay Thompson scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Washington State Cougars over the Oklahoma State Cowboys 74-64 in the second round of the National Invitational Tournament late Monday night at Beasley Coliseum.

DeAngelo Casto added 13 points and four rebounds for the Cougs (21-12), who host Northwestern on Wednesday night in a quarterfinal game.

WSU held Marshall Moses, who fouled out in the closing minutes, to two points and six rebounds.

Matt Pilgrim led the Cowboys (20-14) with 17 points and 13 rebounds.

Brock Motum made 6 of his 9 shots from the field and finished with 17 points off the bench for the Cougs.
