find a way to get a decisive tying goal and they fell to Brewster

2-1 at home on Friday.

WARDEN -  Trailing 2-1 at halftime the Warden Cougars couldn't find a way to get a decisive tying goal and they fell to Brewster 2-1 at home on Friday.

"The game was very even," Warden head coach Ed Aguilar said. "Both teams played good passing game dominated by midfielder players, we make a couple errors in defense in the first halves and Brewster capitalized."

Warden led 1-0 in the first 10 minutes when Carlos Gomez put home an assist by Fernando Landeros.

Brewster countered five minutes later to tie and then took the lead late in the first half clearing the Warden defense and Cougars' goalkeeper Abraham Perez.

After halftime both teams had chances to score but neither could put the ball into the back of the net.

Warden's best chance came when Hector Camacho's one-on-one with the Brewster goalie was parried away.

"I think we didn't play our potential and we did not anticipate that Brewster was as good as they were," Aguilar said. "They are very good team and we learned that as long both teams play with 11 players we have only a 50 percent chance to win the game and we have to work hard to earn the another 50 percent."

Brewster outshot Warden 19-15.
