OTHELLO - Kicking off their Central Washington Athletic Conference (CWAC) slate the Othello Lady Huskies earned a split the easy and the hard way.

In the opener, a big start led to a 7-2 win while a late rally in the nightcap gave the Lady Huskies the 9-8 victory and subsequent sweep of the day's action.

In the 7-2 win, Othello's Brenda Rodriguez was the winning pitcher and was aided by her team's offense getting all seven runs over the first three innings.

Seven different Othello hitters had one hit apiece.

In the second game, Othello rallied from 7-4 and 8-6 deficits behind a three-run bottom of the fifth to come-from-behind for the victory.

The winning rally came via four hits including a key double by Rodriguez.

Kim Bullis started on the mound for Othello and Daisy Salgado earned the win in relief.

Salgado went 3-for-3, Kim Bullis did the same, while Joanna Quezada and Rodriguez both finished 2-for-3 at the plate.
