Cougars move on in NIT with big win over Oklahoma State

PULLMAN (AP) - Klay Thompson scored 14 of his 24 points in the first half to help Washington State beat Oklahoma State 74-64 on Monday night in the second round of the NIT.

Brock Motum added 17 points and DeAngelo Casto added 11 as Washington State (21-12) moved into the quarterfinals against Northwestern on Wednesday.

Thompson hit back-to-back 3-pointers in the first two minutes of the game to set the tone as Washington State started on a 9-0 run. The Cougars led by as many as 14 with 13 minutes remaining.

The Cougars held the Cowboys' leading scorer, Marshall Moses, to two points and four rebounds.
