PREP BOYS SOCCER: ROYAL 2, CONNELL 1

CONNELL - It may be time for the rest of the South Central Athletic Conference (SCAC) to take the Royal Knights seriously.
Two Adam Martinez goals were just enough for the Knights to beat the host, rival Connell squad, 2-1 on Tuesday night to move to 4-0 overall and in SCAC play.
Martinez's goals came in the 26th and 53rd minutes and Connell scored in the 64th minute to make things interesting before failing to complete a full rally.
"Our midfield made things difficult, and moved the ball well in the second half with the help of our midfielders who tried to control the play from the center of the park," Royal head coach Jens Jensen said. "The defense and our outside midfielders worked to keep Connell out, and despite a few errors, they bent a bit, but didn't break."
Defensively, Royal has allowed only four goals in four games, two of which - including last night's Connell tally - via penalty kick.
