ROYAL CITY - Royal baseball continues its improved play as they swept Pateros, 27-0 and 12-2 on Saturday in Royal City.

In the opener, Royal scored 12 runs in the bottom half of the first and the rout was on.

Danny Vermeer pitched a one-hitter to earn the win on the mound for Royal (3-3) as he struck out 10.

Royal had 12 hits, were walked seven times, and hit by a pitcher seven times as well.

In the second game, Kent Christensen went four strong innings to earn the win. Vermeer went 2-for-3 while Tanner Whitaker finished 2-for-4 with three RBI.

"I was happy with how the team worked had and kept the innings going with many two out rallies," Royal head coach Daren Christensen said."
