WARDEN - A late push for a tie and a chance at extra time fell short last night as Warden's Cougars fell 2-1 to visiting Connell in a non-league match.

Connell led Warden 2-0 at halftime but saw the hosts rally when Osbaldo Alba scored in the match's 62 minute to cut the gap in half.

Warden would end up outshooting Connell 8-7 as they fell to 6-6 overall.

"The game was very close both teams played safely because both teams have a very important game next Thursday," Warden head coach Ed Aguilar said. The Cougars play Brewster on Thursday.
