Portland rally ends Chiefs' season

SPOKANE - Levko Koper's goal in the last minute of the second period tied it at 3-3, but Portland scored three times in the third for a 6-3 win to finish out the Western Conference Finals over the Spokane Chiefs on Monday night before 5,218 at the Spokane Arena.

The Chiefs opened the game with two quick goals, one each by Marek Kalas and Mike Aviani, before Portland rallied for the next three and a 3-2 lead before Koper found the net.

Nini Niederreiter had a goal and an assist for the Winterhawks, who advance to play the Kootenay Ice in the Chenoweth Cup.

James Reid stopped 32 of 38 shots for Spokane.
