Barbara Jo Whittaker, 57, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2011 in Sandpoint, Idaho.  Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 6, 2011, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint.

Barbara was born on May 18, 1953, in Spokane, Wash., to Bob and Agnes Fail. She grew up and attended schools in Bonners Ferry, graduating from Bonners Ferry High School in 1972.  She was married to Bruce Whittaker for a short time. They had one daughter Stephanie.

She lived in Nampa, Idaho, for a few years before returning to Bonners Ferry. She suffered a stroke at a young age which left her disabled. In 2000 she moved to Sandpoint.

Her greatest accomplishment in her life was her daughter. She enjoyed her family, laughing, reading and recently took up reading cookbooks and recipes.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Stephanie (John) Tucker of Bonners Ferry; three grandchildren Courtney, Matthew, and Chase; two sisters Dorothy (Stan) Nelson of Las Vegas, NV and Phyllis (David) Foust of Bonners Ferry.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
