Ex-NIC player Stevens
transfers to MSU Billings
BILLINGS, Mont. - Taylor Stevens, who played basketball for two years at North Idaho College before transferring to Seattle University, has signed with Montana State Billings.
The 6-foot-7 Stevens played the 2010-11 season at Seattle University after playing two years at NIC. He saw limited action at Seattle U, but scored 11 points and grabbed four rebounds in a game against Eastern Washington.
Stevens is from Marysville, Wash., where he averaged 20.6 points and nine rebounds as a senior at Marysville-Pilchuck High School.
He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Shock activate
Taylor, Witherspoon
The Spokane Shock have activated a pair of defensive linemen, while placing two others on the injured reserve list in rosters moves on Tuesday.
Defensive lineman Terrance Taylor has been activated from the injured reserve list and Lance Witherspoon was activated from the other league exempt list. Lineman Jonathan Williams and defensive back Josh Ferguson were placed on injured reserved.
Both Witherspoon and Taylor will be eligible to play for Saturday's game at Pittsburgh.
Witherspoon, formerly of Eastern Washington, was placed on the other league exempt list at the end of training camp when he signed with the Canadian Football League. He spent the 2010 season with Cleveland, finishing with 20.5 tackles, 3.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.
Taylor had six tackles and one sack before being placed on injured reserved after three games.

takes job at Utah
SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's basketball team hired Norm Parrish as its new director of basketball operations, coach Larry Krystkowiak announced.
Parrish, who was coach at Salt Lake Community College for 20 years, and guided the team to a 20-win season in 2011 and a trip to the Region 18 championship game. Two years ago, Salt Lake won the NJCAA championship, the first in school history and was named the 2009 NJCAA coach of the year.
This will be Parrish's second stint with Utah, serving one year as a graduate assistant under Lynn Archibald in 1988-89.
His career record sits at 447-198, eclipsing the 20-win mark twice.
