RONAN - Bethany Colman, the relief pitcher?

Colman came in to pitch the third with Whitefish leading 6-1, and held the Lady Bulldogs to just one run while striking out 10 and allowing just three hits.

Meanwhile, Ronan's offense got down to business, scoring eight in the bottom of the fifth and four in the sixth to pick up their first Northwestern A conference victory, 15-7.

"Talking with my coaches during the game, we always had the feeling we were going to come back," Ronan head coach Tom Peterson said. "We've always been able to hit the ball."

Brittney Mock hit a home run and a double to finish the game 3-for-4 with three RBIs.

Catcher Katie Andrews went 3-for-5 with two doubles and five RBIs.

Lindsay Clairmont had four RBIs on 2-of-5 hitting.

"Brittney is doing a really good job and she's a freshman," Peterson said.

Big innings help Maidens down Stevensville

STEVENSVILLE - Ronan scored 18 runs in the first two innings on their way to a 25-2 victory that included 21 hits from the Maidens on Tuesday, April 26.

Mock went 5-for-5 in the matchup, hitting two doubles and driving in three runs. Leadoff hitter Marissa McCrea went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a double. Alaina Madsen went 4-for-4 with four RBIs and a double.

Frenchtown Invitational

FRENCHTOWN - Ronan bounced back from a slow Friday to pick up an 11-6 victory over Thompson Falls on Friday at the Frenchtown Invitational.

Peterson said that while the Maidens had nothing at stake with the wins and losses in the tournament they still wanted get better and obviously went into games concentrated on winning while getting lots of players time out on the diamond.

McCrea went 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Maidens, who surged in the later innings past the defending B-C state champions. Thompson Falls did have the 3-1 lead going into the top of the fourth when the Madiens notched three runs to take the lead.

Ronan was able to hold the lead before scoring five runs in the top of the sixth to take the victory for good. Ashleigh Lynch had three hits while Clairmont and Jasmine Bocksnick

added two hits of their own.

It helped erase the bad taste of Friday, since the Maidens lost to Florence 9-3, being held to just five hits, and Loyola Sacred Heard, 5-1, while managing just three hits. In fact, in those two games, Clairmont and Dulmes were the only two Maidens to record RBIs.

Ronan has picked up the momentum and now have four wins on the season, with important conference matchups this week that will make or break their season.

"If we can play better defense we're going to be real tough," Peterson said.
