COEUR d'ALENE - Motorcyclists will take to the road Saturday as part of national Motorcycle Awareness Month.

American Bikers Aimed Toward Education of North Idaho and other local riders are invited to participate in its 10th annual Awareness Parade and Rally.

Stacey Axemaker, program director for the Idaho STAR Program, will be the featured speaker at Saturday's rally that starts at 10 a.m. at the Kootenai County Courthouse. A ride on Sherman Avenue follows at 11 a.m.

There will also be two bike swaps, one in Cataldo at the Inn and the other at Sully's Pub and Grill at 5785 N. Government Way.

Dave Cazel, ABATE spokesman, said the rally will help create more awareness within the community that bikers are out this time of year and it's important to share the road.

"Anyone who has a motorcycle we welcome to ride with us," Cazel said. "We don't discriminate against any bike."
