SANDPOINT - The 2011 installment of the Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club's Spring Derby was marked by daily lead changes and rough weather that did not deter anglers.

Anglers who jumped to an early lead in the contest's rainbow trout and Mackinaw standings saw those leads evaporate and ultimately fell out of the standings by the time the action ended.

Jack Peterson of Sagle topped the rainbow standings with a 19-pound, 5-ounce catch that measured 34 inches. Calvin Nolan of Bayview and Raleigh Turley of Hayden Lake rounded out the top three spots.

Rose Greene of Sandpoint, who led the rainbow standings on day two of the derby, slipped to fifth place.

Jesse Peterson, also of Sagle, nabbed the derby's largest lake trout, a 24-pound, 15-ounce Mack that was 37 inches. The catch gave Jesse Peterson a 6-ounce edge over Roy Stokes of Post Falls.

Bryan Elmore of Hayden Lake caught the biggest fish in the youth contests, a 28-inch Mack that tipped the scales at 8 pounds, 7 ounces.

The derby awards presentation is set for today at the Bonner Mall in Ponderay. It starts at 7 p.m.
