MUDGY: Smear on a good book

I must say I was very disappointed that The Press decided to publish the "cartoon" of Mudgy, the delightful children's character from the book, Mudgy and Millie, to express one's views on McEuen Field. It is an affront to the tremendous good that Susan Nipp has accomplished in this community for the benefit and education of small children.

And yes, the Coeur d'Alene Public Library has also benefited from proceeds of the sales of that adorable children's book. I have purchased that book many times since we moved here, and sent it all over the country to children of our dear friends, to help them learn a little of what makes Coeur d'Alene a great city, with numerous awards to its credit.

The person who drew this crude "cartoon" needs to know that not all of us appreciated their attempt at humor and to drive home their point about the park.
