NIC ousted by walk-off grand slam

SALT LAKE CITY - Freshman catcher Kelsie Bryant hit a walk-off grand slam as the second-seeded Southern Idaho Golden Eagles scored 10 runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to stun the fourth-seeded North Idaho Cardinals 12-9 in a loser-out game of the Region 18 softball tournament on Friday at Bruin Field.

NIC led 8-1 after four innings behind a strong outing by freshman pitcher Jenifer Rosie, who allowed two hits through four innings.

Sophomore Shelby Gonzales went 2 for 2 with a double and four RBIs and two runs scored and Desirae Tinoco had two doubles and three RBIs for NIC, which finished 33-26.

Former Lakeland High standout Alyana Watson went 2 for 4 with a double and run scored for CSI.
