Motorcyclist dies in accident

WALLACE - A Post Falls motorcyclist died Saturday afternoon when he struck a barrier on I-90 and was thrown off an elevated section of the interstate, according to Idaho State Police.

Francis L. Cox, 67, was eastbound on a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle at 11:43 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve at milepost 61.5, deputies said. He drove off the right shoulder of the freeway, struck a jersey barrier and was vaulted off the motorcycle.

Cox landed in a parking lot adjacent to Bank Street in Wallace, deputies said. He was killed in the crash.

Cox was not wearing a helmet when the incident occurred, deputies said.

The crash is under investigation.

Search on for gunman who shot store clerk

GARDEN CITY - Police in Garden City in southwest Idaho say they are looking for a robbery suspect who opened fire Saturday morning on a convenience store clerk with a shotgun.

Police said the shooting took place just after 1 a.m. at a Jackson's Chevron Convenience Store on Chinden Boulevard. Police say the 48-year-old male clerk was taken to a local hospital for emergency surgery for serious but non-life threatening wounds.

Police said the clerk was complying with the gunman's demands when he was shot.

3 teens injured when shotgun discharges

POCATELLO- The Bannock County Sheriff's office in eastern Idaho said three teens have been injured after the accidental discharge of a 20-gauge shotgun on Saturday.

Authorities said all three teens were conscious and breathing when emergency responders arrived.

The teens were taken to hospitals, two by ambulance and one by helicopter.

Police said the teens planned to do some shooting in the Blackrock area before going to prom.
