Huskies boys edged out for regional title

PULLMAN - Ephrata's Andrew Whalen finished tied for second with a 74 and the Othello Huskies team took second in regional play on Monday at Palouse Ridge.
Whalen tied Michael Baldeck of Clarkston who also prided itself in having the winner, Tyler Carlson who shot a 66 to lead their team to the title with 161.5 points.
Othello finished second with 135.5 points as Ephrata took third with 89.5.
Leading the way for Othello was Sam Para who shot a 77 to finish fourth and Colton Hall who ended up with an 80 to tie for sixth.
Ephrata's Mattias Dilling and Othello's Trevor Salsbury tied for ninth with 81s.
The Huskies had one final state qualifier, Jared Kummer who shot an 82 to tie for 13th.
All told, four Huskies and two Ephrata golfers will finish their seasons at next week's Class 2A state meet.
