ANACONDA - The Ronan Maidens won their third straight thanks to a come-from-behind 8-5 victory over Anaconda on the road last Tuesday.

Alaina Madsen continues to pitch well for Ronan and picked up another victory in the circle.

Ronan scored two runs in the first inning and then added another in the top of the third to take the early 3-0 lead. The Copperheads were able to strike back with two runs in the bottom of the third and three more in the bottom of the fourth to jump ahead 5-3.

The Maidens would keep Anaconda quiet at the plate after that. In the top of the fifth, Ronan scored two runs to tie things up thanks to doubles by Katie Andrews, Lindsay Clairmont and Alex Dulmes.

Clairmont made a spectacular sliding catch in the sixth to prevent the Copperheads from scoring. In the top of the seventh, freshman Jasmine Bocksnick pinch hit with two outs and her swing hit the Anaconda catcher, which was called interference and brought in one run. Amber Quequesqah then hit a single to drive home two insurance runs.

Ronan finished the game with 10 hits, as Clairmont went 3-for-3, and Andrews, Ashleigh Lynch and Dulmes all picked up multiple hits in the contest.

The Maidens are now 8-12 on the season.

You’ll have to excuse me for stating the obvious, I’m assuming everyone in Polson already knows this but Neal Lewing is one heck of an actor. I was first able to see the Port Polson player as Judge Turpin in the production of Sweeney Todd last November.
