RONAN - The Ronan girls' tennis team continues to pick up wins as they downed both Whitefish and Stevensville in dual play last week.

On Tuesday, the stakes were high for Katelyn Matkovich, the Maidens' No. 2 doubles player against Whitefish. Ronan had won the No. 1 and 3 singles matchups and the No. 1 doubles battle, but needed her to pull off the victory.

"It all came down to the last match of the day - No. 2 singles," Whitefish coach Patrick Dryden told the Inter Lake.

Matkovich won in an absolute epic, 7-6 (7-4), 0-6, 6-4 to seal the dual win for the Maidens. No. 1 singles player Josie Benedetti had won, 6-1, 6-3 and Amber Metzger had

picked up the No. 3 singles in via a 6-0, 6-0 sweep.

Against Stevensville on Saturday, the Ronan girls won 5-2 behind singles wins by Benedetti, Metzger and Jonell Lauren.
