Edna Grace Huff, 90
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 13 years, 11 months AGO
Edna Grace Huff, 90, longtime resident of North Idaho and Superior, Mont., passed away in Coeur d'Alene on May 18, 2011.
Edna was born in Spokane on Dec. 12, 1920, to William and Clara Cardwell and spent her entire life in the surrounding areas.
Edna married Alfred Dugger, and together they had three children, all of whom preceded Edna in death. After Alfred passed in December 1987, Edna married Larry Huff in 1992. She and Larry moved to Superior. During the logging season, the two spent their time in the woods, where Edna occasionally cooked at the logging camp. During the off-season, they enjoyed traveling in their motor home.
She worked for "General Telephone" in Coeur d'Alene as a supervising telephone operator from which she retired after more than 20 years of employment. Despite retiring, Edna remained involved in the "Telephone Pioneers of America." She was also actively involved in "Women in Timber" in Superior and was a member of the Hayden Lake Eagles. She was a great cook, and a big baseball fan. She also loved to paint and garden - she could grow anything. She had a real green thumb! But, most of all she treasured time spent with her grandchildren.
Edna is survived by seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, as well as numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Lorraine Dugger; her three children: son Gene Dugger; daughter Darlene Ferrians and daughter Linda Shockley; as well as one great-granddaughter, Rachae.
Edna will be laid to rest at Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens. Graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May, 25, 2011, at Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens, 7315 N. Government Way, Coeur d'Alene. English Funeral Chapel has been entrusted to handle the funeral arrangements.
