COEUR d'ALENE - It's show time.

After five months under the microscope, the McEuen Field conceptual plan is going to the Coeur d'Alene City Council for a vote.

More than 50 public presentations since its January unveiling - not to mention thousands of submitted surveys, letters to the editor, online comments and spur-of-the-moment public gatherings both in support and against the park's redesign - the up or down, yay or nay, vote will be at the six-member council's doorstep Tuesday.

So yes or no?

Not that the City Council is guaranteed to vote Tuesday. It could hold off on an official decision if it needs more time.

But by all intents and purposes, the table is set.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday at Woodland Middle School, 2101 Saint Michelle Ave., in Coeur d'Alene. It's the only topic on the agenda, as the City Council called the special meeting for the popular, polarizing, highly-debated topic.

Expected turnout is well into the hundreds.

The park plan has a lot of itemized parts. Up for adoption will be the conceptual plan, or vision, for the park's long-term future recommended by the designers, Team McEuen, with the help of a 21-person steering committee.

The floor will be open for public testimony. The meeting doesn't have a scheduled end time.
