Velma Ruth Reasor

Velma Reasor, daughter and only child of Almo Dana and Cora Elizabeth (Moore) Wagner died May 20, 2011, at Regency Albany.

She was born and raised in Salem, Ore., graduating from Salem High School in 1935. She attended Willamette University in Salem. She married Lawrence Reasor Sr. on Oct. 31, 1935, in Salem. They lived in Portland, Ore., until 1945, moving to Salem and residing there from 1945 to 1950 whereby they came to make their home in Albany, Ore., from 1950 through 1967.

Velma was kept busy raising her family and working as a waitress at many local restaurants and also managing grocery store bakeries until their move to Coeur d'Alene in 1967. Larry and Velma owned and operated a motel there from 1967 through 1979 and one in Glendive, Mont., from 1979 through 1985. They retired and were able to travel a short while until Larry's health prevented travel, and they came to reside in Albany. He died in 1995.

Velma became active with the Eastside Christian Senior's group of her church whom she dearly loved. She also enjoyed the many years she spent attending the "Quilters" club and "Stitchers" group at the Albany Senior Center.

Velma was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Sr.

Surviving are her three children, Lawrence Reasor Jr. and his wife Caroline of Rathdrum, Terrence David Reasor of Sherwood, Ore., and Mary Elizabeth Chido and her husband Joseph Chido Sr. of Albany. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

In respect for her wishes there will be no services.
