The 100 block of Central Avenue is set

to be open by Friday afternoon, city manager Chuck Stearns

reports.

Paving of the 100 block was expected

for Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Construction crews are set to

stripe parking lanes, install signs, benches and trash cans and

cleanup on Thursday and Friday.

Last week crews finished sidewalks and

curbs. The concrete machine for the gutter pans did not work well

and the pans were poured by hand on Saturday.

Schellinger Construction is 82 percent

complete with 66 percent or work time elapsed.

The work is scheduled to be completed

on June 13 with early completion on May 27.
