Ian Michael Deters, 22

Ian Michael Deters, 22, was born in Hong Kong on Oct. 17, 1988, to David and Cheri Deters who were living in The Peoples Republic of China at the time. He died on May 21, 2011, at his home in Post Falls.
Diagnosed at 5 months of age with rare neurological and metabolic disorders, Ian was not expected to live to celebrate his first birthday. His Creator had different plans and Ian went on to bring joy to his many caregivers, friends and his family for the next 22 years. Although unable to speak, Ian communicated volumes through his piercing hazel eyes and his engaging smile.
One of Jesus’ special little lambs, Ian is now with The Good Shepherd in heaven. Left behind are his parents, David and Cheri Deters of Post Falls, and his brother, Levi Deters. The newest member of the Deters family is Levi’s wife, Adrienne; they reside in Fairlee, Vermont. Also missing Ian terribly are his grandmother, Lorraine Asquith of Kent, Wash., and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service for Ian Deters will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Coeur d’Alene Bible Church, 5350 N. Fourth St. in Coeur d’Alene.
