Red Sox earn rare win at Cleveland

Josh Beckett picked up his first regular-season win in Cleveland - where he pitched an October gem four years ago - to lead the Boston Red Sox to a 4-2 win Tuesday night over the Indians, who couldn't quite muster another late-inning rally and lost for just the fifth time at home.
Beckett allowed one run and five hits in 6 2/3 innings for his only non-postseason win at Progressive Field. He won here in the 2007 ALCS, pitching eight dominant innings in Game 5 as the Red Sox kept their season alive and eventually won the series.
Yankees 5, Blue Jays 4: Curtis Granderson had a tying RBI single in the ninth inning then stole second before Mark Teixeira singled him home to give CC Sabathia and New York a victory over visiting Toronto.
Athletics 6, Angels 1: At Anaheim, Calif., David DeJesus hit two homers and drove in four runs, leading Oakland past Los Angeles.
Tigers 7, Rays 6: Alex Avila's second homer of the game gave host Detroit the lead in the eighth inning and the Tigers beat Tampa Bay.
Orioles 5, Royals 3: Adam Jones capped a ninth-inning uprising with a two-run walkoff homer against Joakim Soria, giving Baltimore a victory over visiting Kansas City.

Braves 2, Pirates 0: Jair Jurrjens pitched six-hit ball into the eighth inning to lead Atlanta at Pittsburgh.
Marlins 5, Giants 1: Ricky Nolasco pitched scoreless ball into the ninth inning, leading Florida at San Francisco.
Rockies 12-2, Diamondbacks 4-5: At Denver, Carlos Gonzalez homered twice and Colorado beat Arizona in the opener of a doubleheader.
In the nightcap, Arizona's Kelly Johnson hit a solo homer and had one of three RBI doubles in the sixth inning.
Dodgers 5, Astros 4: Rookie Jerry Sands hit a grand slam in the third inning and Jay Gibbons also homered as Los Angeles snapped a three-game losing streak with a win at Houston.
Reds 6, Phillies 3: Jay Bruce hit a tiebreaking, three-run double in the ninth inning and Cincinnati won at Philadelphia.
Cardinals 3, Padres 2, 11 inn.: Daniel Descalso's RBI single in the 11th lifted St. Louis at San Diego.
Cubs 11, Mets 1: Ryan Dempster pitched seven effective innings, Starlin Castro had three hits and three RBIs and host Chicago pounded New York.
Brewers 7, Nationals 6: Jonathan Lucroy hit a two-run single in the eighth and Brandon Boggs collided into catcher Wilson Ramos to score the go-ahead run, rallying Milwaukee past visiting Washington.
