The skinny onweight loss: Part XIII
Dr. Bruce J. Grandstaff | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 13 years, 11 months AGO
In my last three articles I referenced the Health for Life article on the Mind Body Connection that was in the Sept. 27, 2004, edition of Newsweek Magazine. I mentioned that they estimated that 60-90 percent of all doctor visits involved stress related complaints. (In February 2007 a new study of primary care physicians estimated that number to be 75-90 percent). The Newsweek article went on to say "The challenge is to map the pathways linking mental states to medical ones, and travel them at will." I then explained that alternative doctors had been doing this for at least 20 years.
The mind is a powerful thing that can bring us success or that can be programmed inadvertently to bring us failure. The Ideal Protein Diet/Treatment is set up to bring success to every patient with safe, rapid and sustained fat loss. But ultimately for some, intervention by their health care provider may be necessary to ensure success.
As an example, tragically I find that some women who have been sexually molested as children have admitted that they have allowed themselves to become unattractive by gaining weight so as not to invite or bring attention to themselves in the hopes of preventing another unwanted sexual predator from taking advantage of them.
The feelings that they retain all of their lives is heart breaking. I have had women in their 80s tear up as they recalled these unwanted predator attacks.
I mentioned last week that simple muscle response testing could detect these hidden emotions and simple, fast treatments could reverse their negative effects on the body.
For instance the subjects "obesity," "overweight" and "overeating" have the following emotions: Using food as a substitute for affection, inability to express true feelings, seeking love, protecting the body, trying to fulfill the self, stuffed feelings, are found under "Obesity " in Karol K. Truman's book "Feelings Buried Alive Never Die..." one of the references we use for emotional work. Like a lie detector test looking for a physiological stress response to questioning, hidden negative emotions are revealed by muscle response testing that can lead the practitioner to the emotions that are "running the show."
For more than 25 years now most people who go on the Ideal Protein Diet/Treatment program experience 3-5 pounds/week fat loss if they are females and 5-7 pounds/week if they are males. If they are faithfully following our protocol and start slowing down with fat loss checking for negative emotions and psychological reversal is a logical place to look for possible self-sabotage.

The Skinny on Weight Loss: Part I
As attested to by the many ads in the media, we are a nation of dieters. According to the Surgeon General of the United States, "The greatest threat to our country isn't terrorism, it's obesity." Perhaps more of us should be thinking about losing the unhealthy extra weight we've accumulated. But losing weight is physiologically unnatural. Many of you have tried can attest to that and that's why 95 percent of people who have successfully lost weight will gain it back.
