Conrad's pinch homer lifts Braves

Brooks Conrad hit a pinch-hit two-run home run in the 11th inning as the visiting Atlanta Braves beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-2 on Wednesday.

Brewers 6, Nationals 4: Zack Greinke hit a go-ahead home run in the fifth inning and struck out 10 as host Milwaukee defeated Washington for its sixth-straight victory.

Astros 2, Dodgers 1: J.R. Towles broke an 0 for 32 skid with three hits, including an RBI single with two outs in the ninth inning as Houston downed visiting Los Angeles.

Padres 3, Cardinals 1: Chase Headley doubled home the go-ahead run in the eighth inning as San Diego defeated St. Louis, ending their five-game losing streak. Padres second baseman Orlando Hudson left the game in the seventh with a strained left groin.

Phillies 5, Reds 4, 19 inn.: Infielder Wilson Valdez shifted to the mound in the top of the 19th inning and earned the win as Philadelphia outlasted visiting Cincinnati in a game that tied for the fourth longest game in the majors this season.

Mets 7, Cubs 4, 7 inn.: Carlos Beltran doubled, tripled and drove in two runs as visiting New York defeated Chicago in a rain-shortened game.

Diamondbacks 2, Rockies 1: At Denver, Colo., Ian Kennedy tossed eight crisp innings as visiting Arizona beat host Colorado.

AMERICAN LEAGUE

Red Sox 14, Indians 2: Jon Lester coasted to his AL-leading seventh win as visiting Boston beat Cleveland.

Yankees 7, Blue Jays 3: Andruw Jones hit a pair of two-run home runs and Mark Teixeria also had a two-run shot as host New York downed Toronto. Mariano Rivera became the first player in major league history to make 1,000 appearances with the same team as he closed out the ninth inning.

Rangers 2, White Sox 1: At Arlington, Texas, former Spokane Indian Ian Kinsler drove in the go-ahead run as host Texas defeated Chicago.

Orioles 9, Royals 2: Adam Jones had two hits and two RBIs in an eight-run fourth inning as host Baltimore beat Kansas City.

Angels 4, Athletics 1: At Anaheim, Calif., Torii Hunter and Alberto Callaspo hit back-to-back home runs as host Los Angeles defeated Oakland for its fourth win in six games.

Tampa Bay at Detroit, ppd., rain: The series finale between the Rays and Tigers was postponed following a two-hour delay. It will be made up on June 13 at Comerica Park.

White Sox 8, Rangers 6 (late Tuesday): At Arlington, Texas, Carlos Quentin hit three home runs as visiting Chicago outlasted Texas.
