EUREKA - Mike Bournstein continued his hot hitting, but it wasn't enough to get the Mariners B-team past the Libby Loggers in a double-header last week.
Bournstein had two hits, including a triple, but the Loggers had plenty of offense of their own to get past the M's in both matchups. In the first game, Libby jumped out to an 8-2 lead through two innings and then iced it in the bottom of the fourth with a seven-run outburst for the 15-2 victory.
The Loggers had 13 hits, while Mission Valley had five. Bournstein, Zeke Webster-Yaqui, Chris Drebes, David Cleveland and Jarod Young all had hits in the game and Drebes drove in two of the Mariners' runs.
In the second game, the Mariners were held to just one hit - Bournstein's triple - but they also tapered the Loggers offense from the first game and fell 10-0. Mission Valley also tightened up its defense and committed just one error compared to the four in the first game.
On Sunday, the B team traveled to Eureka and picked up another early season win as they split with the Kootenai Valley Rangers, however, statistics from the doubleheader weren't available at press time.

You’ll have to excuse me for stating the obvious, I’m assuming everyone in Polson already knows this but Neal Lewing is one heck of an actor. I was first able to see the Port Polson player as Judge Turpin in the production of Sweeney Todd last November.
