LAKEWOOD - What a choice way to collect a first ever state golf trophy.

The Warden Lady Cougars, led by Lara Crow's 191, ninth place individual score, finished second at the Class 1B/2B state finals at Meadow Park Golf Course yesterday.

Crow was joined by Taylor Edson (196, 11th place), Brittany Stavig (212, 18th place), and Carter Marks (216, 19th place) in leading the Lady Cougars to team score of 27 points to fall only behind champions St. John-Endicott who finished wih 35.5 points.

"All four of our girls made it to the second day and everybody had a blast," Warden head coach Myrtle Voss said.

Also in the competition, Moses Lake Christian Academy's Ame McPhetridge took 15th place with a score of 210.

"Not a bad finish for a young lady who took 18th last year," MLCA head coach Ronda McPhetridge said.
