GREAT FALLS - Columbia Falls and Polson have advanced players to the semifinals after first-day action Thursday at the Class A state tennis tournament.

Columbia Falls' Vadim Zvygelskiy and Miroslav Zvygelskiy beat Eric Troyer and Lane Baumann of Hardin in doubles quarterfinals (score not available).

Polson singles players Kendyall Rochin and Whitney Zimmerman moved to the semifinals with two wins on Thursday. Rochin defeated Jordan Johnson of Glendive in the quarterfinals 6-2, 6-1 while Zimmerman outlasted Dylan Balanda of Livingston 7-5, 6-2, 7-5.
