Gary Ray Christiansen, 71

Gary Ray Christiansen passed away April 22, 2011, in Mesa, Ariz.

He was born Dec. 16, 1939, in Beaver Crossing, Neb., to Earl and Isabel Christiansen. Gary spent his early years in many activities, achieving his Eagle Scouting Badge.

In 1961 he graduated from the University of Nebraska. Upon graduation, Gary was commissioned into the U.S. Marine Corps.

He married Constance Winjum on July 31, 1965, in Pierre, S.D.

In 1967 Gary graduated from the University of Montana Law School. He practiced law for over thirty years in Kalispell.

Gary was active in many community activities, including Ducks Unlimited, Rotary International, and was a charter board member of the Hockaday Museum.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Kay Foster.

He is survived by his wife, Constance; his son, Matthew; sister, Sue Hookano and family; brother, Clark Christiansen and family; the family of Kay Foster; and sister-in-law, Janice Forbord and family.

Memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Valley, East Mesa PCU, 6063 E. Arbor Ave., Mesa, AZ 85206, or a charity of the donor's choice.

A celebration of life will be held later in Kalispell.
