Shock lose on final play

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Brian Umstead's 23-yard field goal as time expired lifted the Kansas City Command past the Spokane Shock 45-42 in Arena Football League play Saturday at the Sprint Center.
The Shock (4-7) tied the game at 42 with 4:51 remaining when Casey Hansen hit Emery Sammons on a 3-yard touchdown pass, then connected with Raul Vijil on the 2-point conversion.
Kansas City (4-7) took the ensuing kickoff and drove down the field, calling timeout with 3 seconds left to set up the game-winning kick. Umstead had missed a 21-yarder earlier in the game.
Bryan Robinson had 3 1/2 sacks for Kansas City, which led 29-14 at halftime and 42-27 after three quarters. The Command won on the game's final play for the second straight week.
Spokane routed Kansas City 61-34 at home on April 1.
Spokane is idle next week, then plays host to Philadelphia on June 10.
