OLDTOWN - The wife of Mayor Lonnie Orr was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after colliding with a parked vehicle on Wednesday night.

Beverly M. Orr, 58, is charged with driving under the influence, striking a parked vehicle and leaving the scene of a crash.

There were no reports of injuries as a result of the collision.

Beverly Orr was arrested at her home on Meadowdale Avenue, shortly after the 6:10 p.m. crash on East Valley Street. Deputies located Beverly Orr by acting on a witness tip, according to Bonner County Sheriff Daryl Wheeler.

Wheeler said the case remains under investigation and declined further comment.

She was booked into the Bonner County Jail in Sandpoint, but was later released on $500 bail. The criminal case against her remains sealed until she makes an initial appearance in court.

A court date in the matter is pending.

Beverly Orr has no prior criminal history in the state of Idaho, according to the Idaho Supreme Court Data Repository.

A message seeking comment from Lonnie Orr at City Hall was not returned on Thursday.
