POST FALLS - A 31-year-old Post Falls man was arrested on Saturday for alleged lewd conduct with a minor.

David Christopher Chopper was arrested without incident during a traffic stop after he was returning home from work in Spokane. He was being held at the Kootenai County jail on a $150,000 bond.

He was arrested and charged for allegedly inappropriately touching a girl, now 12, about 20 times from when she was ages 5 to 10, said Post Falls Police Detective Dave Beck.

"There was an admission and confession from him inappropriately touching the child for a period of time," Beck said.

Chopper is also being investigated for lewd conduct with a different 12-year-old girl, but was only charged in connection with the one alleged victim. The other case will be left up to the prosecutor for further charges, Beck said.

In an earlier case, Chopper was also arrested in 2008 on a $100,000 warrant after he was being sought on charges of four counts of lewd conduct with a minor under 16 years of age for an alleged 2007 incident in Post Falls. He later pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, misdemeanor battery, and served 28 days in jail.
