MOSES LAKE - A Moses Lake teenager reportedly forced his ex-girlfriend's car into oncoming traffic while chasing her down.

Angel M. Ramirez, 18, was arrested Monday night for reckless driving, reckless endangerment and operating a motor vehicle without ID, according to Moses Lake Police.

Ramirez was reportedly driving on Nelson Road near state Route 17 at about 6:30 p.m. when he saw his 19-year-old former girlfriend driving another car and tried to flag her down.

When she did not stop, Ramirez drove onto the shoulder of the roadway and forced her into oncoming traffic several times, nearly hitting a pedestrian in a crosswalk near Nelson Road and Skyline Drive, police stated.

Ramirez continued chasing her as she drove to the Moses Lake Police Department parking lot, where he blocked the entrance so she couldn't leave. He then exited his vehicle and ran at the victim, who drove over a curb to exit the lot.

A police officer arrived on scene just as Ramirez backed up and hit a construction sign. Both parties were stopped on Balsam Street and Fifth Avenue, where Ramirez was arrested.

The victim filed for a protection order against Ramirez in the past, but he has been avoiding its service and the order has now expired, police stated.

She was advised to file again, and a temporary order was meanwhile requested through the court.
