MOSES LAKE - A 12-year-old boy who allegedly strangled his dog to death was caught with a list containing names of people he reportedly wished to harm.
Moses Lake Police responded to a residence on South Beaumont Drive early Sunday to investigate an incidence of animal cruelty reported by the boy's friends, according to a Moses Lake Police report.
The juvenile suspect was arrested for animal cruelty in the first degree and booked into Grant County Juvenile Detention Center, according to Moses Lake Police Capt. Dave Sands.
During the course of the police investigation the suspect was found to be in possession of a list of names he reportedly told police were people he wanted to harm, Sands said.
The suspect is a student at Chief Moses Middle School, but Moses Lake School District Superintendent Michelle Price said while the list contained "a couple of student names" it also contained names of the boy's neighbors, friends and family members of various ages.
The district worked closely with the Moses Lake Police Department to contact all individuals on the list as a precautionary measure, Price said.
The school district issued an emergency expulsion for the suspect while they look into the incident, she added.
