Seasons displaying renowned artist's work
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 13 years, 2 months AGO
COEUR d'ALENE - It's satisfying two sensations at once, visual and the palate.
Not that the 28 paintings by Terry Lee are for sampling, but the vibrant wildlife and outdoor pieces now hanging on the walls inside Seasons of Coeur d'Alene Fresh Bar and Grill are turning the downtown restaurant on Lakeside Avenue into a mini gallery.
"It's great exposure," said Lee, an artist for 25 plus years whose pieces are hanging from the Lake City to Africa and Paris.
The showcase features colorful paintings of zebras, wild horses in full gallop, giraffes and a mammoth, sharply-tusked elephant that looks from afar like it's coming out of the wall right at you.
The restaurant, which opened four months ago, features artists for 60-day displays, just like full-fledged art galleries. Lee is the third featured artist, following Richard Warrington and Stephen Shortridge, and his art will hang through the end of December.
It's "a blessing for our restaurant to have his painting on our walls," said Dirk Ferrell, Seasons general manager.
Friday marked the first day of the display.
A reception will be 5 p.m. Friday at the restaurant on the corner of Lakeside Avenue and Second Street during ArtWalk. Lee will be working on a piece during the reception.
