Hayden Mayor Ron McIntire won four more years heading the city, defeating a challenge from current City Councilwoman Nancy (Taylor) Lowery.

McIntire received 1,011 votes and nearly 65 percent of the vote total, and Lowery received 549 votes.

Tim Timmins handily defeated Kris LaMarr for Lowery's seat, which she'll be leaving in January.

"It shows a lot of courage on behalf of the people that have backed me to go against a giant," Lowery said.

She wished McIntire well in the next four years.

She enjoyed running for mayor and bringing some attention to city government.

"I went into close to 600 people's homes," Lowery said. "It's been a treasured experience."

She hopes to see citizen involvement increase during the next four years.

McIntire was unavailable for comment Tuesday night.

Timmins received 875 votes and 61 percent of the vote, and LaMarr received 558 votes.

Timmins handily beat LaMarr for seat No. 1 on the council, which Lowery opted not to seek again to run for mayor.

"We were out campaigning really hard and my opponent didn't," Timmins said. "Maybe nobody even knew who he was."

Roger Saterfiel ran uncontested for another term on the council.
