McKenzie Kiser named all-state for third straight year

Five members of the Columbia Falls girls soccer team were recently named to the 2011 Northwest Class A All Conference list - Madison Sandefer, Julia Burgi, Cortney White, Elyse Gordon and Kira Kamrud.

McKenzie Kiser was named to the 2011 Class A All State list for the third year in a row. Wildkats Danielle Delventhal and Cedar Jordt were also named All State.

On the boys side, Alex Vanhorn and Dylan Corbett were named all-conference.

A bill requiring the state to electronically verify that all foreign nationals are in the U.S. legally before issuing a Montana driver’s license or ID card was signed into law by Gov. Brian Schweitzer on April 18.

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
