Kootenai County Sheriff Rocky Watson has filed a lawsuit against the county and current and past officials, asking for damages of over $10,000.

The suit, directed at the county, past Commissioner Rick Currie and Community Development Director Scott Clark, states that the county was wrong in issuing a stop work order for the move of Watson's home by barge, and for issuing a stop order for legal road work.

The suit also claims that Currie and Clark's conduct toward Watson was the result of personal animosity and retaliation for the sheriff's concerns over management of the county.

The suit was filed on November 7 in District Court. The sheriff's legal representative is his brother, attorney Rollie Watson.
