St. Richard's Catholic Church, on U.S. 2 in Columbia Falls, will hold their annual bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Bowl for kids

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flathead County will host five Bowl for Kids' Sake fundraising events across the Flathead in November, including at Glacier Lanes, in Columbia Falls, on Saturday, Nov. 12, beginning at 3 p.m. This is Big Brothers Big Sisters main fundraiser. Wellness fair

The Flathead Disability Health & Wellness Fair will take place at The Wave in Whitefish on Saturday, Nov. 12, from noon to 5 p.m. More than 20 federal, state, nonprofit and other groups will be represented. According to the 2010 census, more than 10,000 people in Flathead County have disabilities and 6 percent are children. Guest speakers will appear throughout the event, and prizes will be raffled off. A bill requiring the state to electronically verify that all foreign nationals are in the U.S. legally before issuing a Montana driver’s license or ID card was signed into law by Gov. Brian Schweitzer on April 18.

Uphill skiers need to be aware of avalanches on Big Mtn.

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
